St. Louis VA Medical Center

The St. Louis VA Medical Center, John Cochran Division, is seeking a full-time physician assistant to join the gastroenterology department, which consists of three PA’s, five Gastroenterologists, and fellowship training programs from two local universities. The job will mostly involve outpatients, but may have some inpatient exposure. Duties include (but are not limited to): evaluation, assessment, and treatment of various GI related conditions; ordering and following up on diagnostic tests/imaging; assisting supervising physician; and performing GI procedures. This position will include procedural training in paracentesis, capsule endoscopy, EGDs, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and assistance with ultrasound guided liver bx. Previous endoscopic skills are a plus, but not required. (New PA will be trained in a similar fashion to the GI fellows learning endoscopy.) Hours will be Mon-Fri. No evenings, weekends, or call.
