Goals |
|
The goals of GIPA include, but are not
limited to:
- Enhance
quality medical care to patients.
- Support
the professional growth, development, training, and
education of PAs in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
- Promote
clinical and academic excellence among GI PAs.
- Provide
a forum for discussion of issues affecting GI PAs.
- Provide
an environment for exchange of information and networking
opportunities among GI PAs.
- Act
as an information resource for both physicians and
PAs regarding PA practice in Gastroenterology and
Hepatology.
- Establish
and maintain liaisons with the physician specialty
organizations in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
- Aid
in defining the appropriate scope of practice for
PAs in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
- Establish
a speakers bureau for GI topics to be presented
at conferences.
- Provide
job search assistance for GI PAs.
- Conduct
periodic surveys of members to gather current demographic
information on job responsibilities, work settings,
salary, and benefits and make this information available
to GIPA members.
- Encourage
PAs to be involved in research in the areas of clinical
or endoscopic Gastrointestinal medicine for publication.
