Message From The President

Dear Members and Prospective Members,

Thank you for your continued support and interest in being a Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology Physician Assistant.

Under the direction of Tim Morton, our immediate past president, we accomplished a great deal for our members through both active representation and continued nurturing of our resources. I would like to personally thank Tim for his time and dedication to our constituent organization. Fortunately, Tim will continue his active service on our board which is strong with seasoned professionals that bring a wealth of knowledge and a great degree of dedication.

Along with facilitating the maturation of our current member benefits and resources I would like to focus on initial and continued specialty training for our group. Key to this will be development of Gastroenterology and Hepatology courses created by and focused on Physician Assistants. These will be delivered either at a distance or in the conference setting to engage both those new to the specialty and those with a seasoned perspective needing specialty-specific continuing education. Lastly, I would like to see us foster more student involvement in our specialty organization.

I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve as your President this year and encourage each of you to benefit from involvement in the Gastroenterology Physician Assistant (GIPA) organization.

Douglas L. Senecal, PA-C, MPAS
President, GIPA
